Move On

The sinking feeling when the gap between results and my expectations are bridging further apart instead of closing in. Haih

People seem to have a way for it while a general comparison between me and them would have easily made known I'm nowhere as good as others. Particularly, iT. What makes it difficult for me to envision myself in the near future is making an independent judgment and feeling confident about it. Until now, I am not bold enough to present answers on my own without a sense of doubt, a hands-on question would send me in a wave of panic and it has left me thinking that I am inept for it. I wish I was better.

Attitude is the hardest part to change in someone, correct? Unfortunately, like everyone else, I am one of that "someone" who finds it so difficult not to fall back into that lazy repetitive pattern. Change change change.

Sorry for the the slightly sulky blog post.

Anyways, on a lighter note, I watched this TED talk by Guy Winch. I've not watch many Ted talks. haha, so yes, so far, its one of the best Ted talks I've seen! =) Wanna share it with you guys. If u all can spare the time, its 17 minutes long but a sincere, interesting talk. His idea is this - emotional hygiene. :))  http://www.ted.com/talks/guy_winch_the_case_for_emotional_hygiene#t-20180
The thing is, he really needs a follow up to this to explain further on the "how to" steps. :)

One of the days during holidays, I watch back the show 'Bridge of Terabithia' cos when I was younger, I remember disliking the show simply cos I couldn't understand what the show's about. Now that I've rewatch it, no wonder. It was all the kids' imagination. Everything about Terabithia which I thought was real (once-upon-a-time) was actually purely imaginative. HAHA. Its funny how I dislike the show back then cos of the sad ending, now that I fully understand the show, omo, its such a meaningful and nice movie. :))

The trip to Malacca was a foodie trip. Since it was only a night there, we spent the whole evening walking along Jonker Street grabbing the food that we felt like eating. Yums!! So many nice local food. The satay celup was so awesomee!! :)) Then there's durian puff, durian cendol and coconut shake. Yummy! Only surprisingly, the nyonya food that we ate didn't really taste nice which include the nyonya laksa.

Holiday Season

Its the holidays! Ngehehe. I'm officially on a one month sem break. Yesh! :D Since there are some event plannings to be done, I'll be headed back Kampar earlier, so to be precise, its 3 weeks break for me. Yups. Its strange that it has been over a year since I'm in uni and it all seemed so fast. Well, actually it felt long when it was the midst of every semester *ahem hems* but as a whole, it does feel fast. End of Year 1!! Ohyehh! :D Exams ended on Friday, of which I felt that I could have done much better. I always do, don't I? HAHA. But I still feel this way especially for law. Regardless of what I feel, what's done is done aite? At least its a good learning process. The effort, the regrets, the new knowledge gained and the shortcomings. Just gotta try better next time!! =)

Started off my holidays with Avengers and then Helios at the cinemas with my parents two days consecutively. Since there were free redeemable tickets for joining the Tgv MovieClub, better claim it before it expires. Hehe. Its the best time to catch up on my sleep this holidays too. Since coming to uni, staying up past 12 is a norm and I think its bad in the long run really. Gee gee.

As always, I plan to have a balanced holidays with a fair share of productivity and nothings. My to-do holiday list has nothing bizarre or particular le. Haha. I've been returning back to my ongoing series and started off a bit of anime too. Yaya, I've tried eating heavy meals while watching shows. Its not my habit at all and aigoo, difficult betull. How do people watch dramas and eat meals at the same time??! What if the best scenes are missed while looking at our rice or noodles?? HAHA. Dumdum question I know. Anyways, whenever I eat while watching Forever, either I end up losing my appetite or hurriedly finished up my food before continuing the series cause its not possible to eat ler while watching autopsies being carried out (as witty and humorous the dialogues can be. Kaka). Eeks! Maybe I've chosen the wrong show to try eating heavy meals with. You may ask me why I suddenly want to eat while watching shows, cause so many people does that including my housemates and they ask me why don't I do that? So try lor, multi-tasking. Its not working..

Lastly, I'm going on a trip this weekends to Kl and Malacca with the two girls. Hahah. My two crazy housemates. Yay yays! :) Looking forward to it and this situation feels a little unfamiliar because its my first getaway trip with my friends. Not like a school trip or something but instead, its a planned trip on our own. A very unfamiliar feeling. Hope we'll enjoy!! :))

Will keep this blog alive when I'm freeehh. :D

Hii

Time slips by so quickly that sometimes, it does not cross my mind how much time has passed by. It is not until I take a step back from the world and quietly reflect on the days that I noticed the many days that slipped away. This kinda explains why I've been MIA here for so long cos I didn't realize that my last posting was so long ago. Hahhaa. Til I visited my blog again. Nyek nyek. Sorrie bloggie.

Because the very many little things are the ones that adds up into my life over the past few months, I'll let the pictures do abit of the talking. Hehees. Starting with the movies and dramas I've recently got the chance to watch :

Almost Home is an animated dreamworks cartoon which I watched at the cinemas with my uni buddies. Its cute and bubbly plus Oh’s expressions. Aahs!! My favourite part was probably Oh’s involuntary dancing. Hees. :)) If you’re wondering, Oh is the name of the main alien in the show. Another good movie which I watched a while back is The Theory of Everything based off Jane and Stephen Hawkins life. It was less about the science and more so about their lives. It took me a day to get over this show because the first half of the show was heartbreaking yet inspiring while the second part of it made me curious and the ending left me feeling.. upset and disappointed. Watch and you'll know why. Hehees. Anyways, if its good acting you wanna see, watch it. Its worth the time because the acting was absolutely worth it, moving and realistic. =) The latest show I watched the other day was Fast 7 with my parents. It was 'fast' and 'furious' as the title goes. Kaka. It was quite good except it feels like something is missing in this one. I think its the old Walker. T.T I’m excited to continue with my newfound series, Forever and Sherlock Holmes BBC. Especially Forever, the first two episodes really caught my attention. I put it on hold awhile dee cos no time. Both seems to be nice series. Eees! :)

Then, it was a new semester. I remembered wanting to blog all the details here but now that I want to recap, feels like everything is a blur. Ohnoo..haha. Anyway, I'm glad to say, I survived! Once again, the busiest time of the semester is over. When's that? When there are assignments due, midterms ongoing and presentations like all caplang together. Luckily we managed (my group members and I). As for assignments, we promised to change the way we handle them next time. We started off early this sem. Due to the CNY break, we sort of procrastinated in between. So we did it til last minute upon completion. We really rushed til the last minute. Omo. All those late nights and burning midnight oil *praying it won't be like this again next sem*.

Other than being caught up with studies, I’ve been hanging out at Vern’s place quite often. Hehees. I am grateful that I can hangout at Vern's place. :) Often a times, we chat and blabber random stuffs. Otherwise, we sometimes have dinners after going to pasar malam together. We usually watch shows as we ate. Running Man tops our list! :))

It's a little late to post this but during CNY, I met up with these people. The Gang! Haha. :D Really, we were super loud and pretty crazy that day til I felt kinda embarassed as I left that place to walk to the toilet. Kaka. Yet, having them around is one of the best things that happened in my life. =)
US. Hehehees.

Part of my mom's family tree and We. Haha.
Chor yatt was spent in Ipoh. The rest, we spent our time cuti cuti-ing at Pangkor, Genting and KL.
I headed back to Kampar earlier for mid-terms as they continued with their next stop, Sekinchan.
U know whose hometown? Sin Chan's!!! Wkaka. :P kddinz.

During the Chinese New Year, I had a meaningful conversation with my eldest bro. He shared with me things that made me realize that uni is not all just about working on the grades and learning. Its also about planning ahead of time like what comes next after graduation? It’s not like I didn’t know this. I just didn’t know there were so many things that we need to and could start thinking about. It’s pretty scary. Yet, its good to know too. Anyhows, my CNY holidays was really well-spent. Felt a little heavy hearted when I went back Kampar at first. It was a memorable season with my family and friends. Had this precious chat with one of my cousins too.

After CNY, it was the busy period. I too managed to step out from my comfort zone a little.

Volunteered for my first activity outside uni - Help to teach kids English.
If it were not for some minor problems, it'll be great. Still, it was a good first time experience indeed.

And on the flipside, I’ve finally had the courage to walk up to some booths and sign up for some activities. Ann Gie told us about it so she, Lee Mee and me applied for it. Fortunately, we're all in this together. Hees. :) We're now part of the committee organizing the Eco-Friendly Campaign next sem! Hope it'll be a great experience.

Some other activities are lined up too like, In a way, can't wait for next sem. Hehees. :D At the same time, thinking about next sem makes me a little nervous because I do not know what to anticipate. Last Wednesday was my course registration for next term's subjects as well. There are some tutorials which I'll be on my own. Just pray that I'll be able to cope on my own feet.

As for now, I'm currently on my study break and finals is looming around the corner. Its been a slow tortoise progress for me. T.T. I know that only I can determine the outcome of what I want so I gotta Do or Die. Haha. With that being said, I gotta work efficiently. Mmms. :)

I've also been couch potato-ing in my room a bit too much back in my kampar hostel lately before I came back for my study break. It only struck me when my housemate pm me this on facebook chat while I was in my room : 'Why I never see you come out of your room? Are you living in a cave?' with a random chillax hand wave dance emoticon. Hahaha. It kinda hit me because she's the housemate whose always the one stuck in her room pratically the whole day except when me and Mae Jean kacau her. Hahah. Its sad that she'll be leaving soon. :(

On a side note, suddenly, as I grow up, the ideals that I have about life are slowly being thrown out the window. I can't exactly pinpoint all of it.  Often atimes, when I have a disagreeing thought and feel otherwise with my parents perspectives, I'll wonder 'Why?' Weren't they once young like me and my brothers too?  I was a little headstrong with my beliefs. Things changed as I'm growing up. I still remember how it all come to me in a rush. I finally understand their concerns and perspectives much better than before to my heart's content. In most cases, they were right about many things. Even if they weren't always right, their intention was always in the best interest of ours because they care. =)

I could also see how if you'd ask me the same notion now and back then, my answer may turn out to be entirely different. Not to mention, many other ideals that I had. Like its true that if we do a good deed, we'll receive happy returns emotionally. If its appreciation from the receiver, think twice. Also, I think adulthood is pretty daunting because people are no longer that simple minded like I always thought. In fact, they are much more complicated than one can possibly imagine. Where is that simple-minded and innocent children we once were? This revelation hit me. This is especially true when I think of working adults. Omo.

In short, its sad to slowly give up upon the ideals I always held onto and believed in as a kid. Aiseh. Like it or not, this world out there doesn't work upon ideals. It may seem like I'm complaining a little. Its just a piece of thought of mine because where else to complain if not here?? Haha. This growing up phase into adulthood happens to be much more challenging than ever. Never mind, I think its always good to see the good in life no matter what even if life is difficult. The best way to summarize this is to quote a novel, "zendagi migzara" which simply means life goes on.

It turns out to be a long long post leh. Whops. Mianhae. Have a good day! :)

The past and present

Happy New Year everybody!!! Let's hope 2015 will be a great and memorable year. :)

Overall, 2014 was an okies year for me. The biggest change that happened during that year was probably my transition period from Form 6 to Uni.

When my local uni results were out, I got an offer to do finance. I felt a slight letdown by myself because I was hoping for a place to do science, although chances were slim.

Once, I remember being late for my first time during accounting lecture class and didn’t want to search among the crowd for my friends so I just sat at an empty seat nearest to where I came in from to the lecture hall. As lecture went on and I sat there, I was silently asking myself ‘Why am I here?' and 'Is this really what I want?’ as I blink through those tears that started clouding my eyes. As I look back at that time, I'm glad I'm pass that point of my life. Its all thanks to the lecturers who have played a role so far in making some of the subjects interesting. There has been mweh subjects too but its still manageable. Haha. Even if I've heard comments from others saying that the course gets a lil' tougher and the theory parts are gonna get boring in future, I just hope to be lucky enough to get good lecturers who will help me cultivate my interest for these subjects. :)

Its a week since I'm back from my genting n kl trip. The best part about my family trips is eating. Cos we're always eating. Haha. Yummy yumss!=) Meeting up with my mom's side relatives is seeing the familiar sight of merriness and feeling happy to be part of the whole family time experience, quality time among relatives. I just wished I had less problems communicating with them due to the language barrier that limits my conversations with my relatives and cousins. Aiseh.

Recently, I went to pop at Parkson while waiting for my mom and ended up buying four books. I was too lazy to read the contents at that time leh so I just read the synopsis of the book and got them based on intuition. Haha. Some of them are on cheap offers that's why. Feel excited to indulge in a novel. I've not read one for a long time alrd. hehees. I got a new specs frame yesterday as well. Need to wait for a few days to get the lenses ready. Yayss! But I will sayang my old one too, keep as spare. Wkaka :)

It was also nice to catch up with some of my friends these holidays. It makes me happy to hear from you all. =)

Holidays are about to be over. I don't look forward to long sem at all but luckily, time does its own job no matter how much I complain. Haha.

Lastly, my resolution for this year~ To be happy and generally, a better person. :D My second resolution is for everyone else to have a happy and smooth year too!!

December :)

Its been raining continuously for the past 2 to 3 days so it does feel a lil' gloomy but christmas-ish at the same time. =) Hoping that I'll have an eventful christmas this year wif my fams n mom's relatives since I'll be going to kl and genting for the week. Whees! Just don't be a boring trip pls. Hehe.

I'm in the midst of my first week of a 3-weeks break. I've resolved to get a few things done this holidays and every other upcoming holidays. Its gonna sound funny but its my new aim to achieve something out of every hols and try my best not to settle for the couch potato habit that bounds to happen everytime. Even if I spend 3 quarters of my holidays idling, one quarter of it should be well-spent. That's my new mission. :) On a side note, I have this brand new idea to decorate/refurbish my rented room in Kampar wif DIY designs. Its not a big deal nor does it have to be a big plan, just something simple that'll make a difference out of my room space which (I think) I'll most probably spend my next two years living. Omo.

I was watching WGM and I'm left with two episodes of Gu Family Book. I don't know why I started watching this show but I'll give it 3/5 stars gua. The strengths? It has some really great casts and pretty solid acting with Lee Seung Gi and Suzy starring as the leads. The girl reminds me so much of Mulan's character which is *thumbs up*. haha. I haven't finish two episodes so I can't review completely yet. I think I can write a lengthy post on this drama hehe but to put it in simple words, the plot had a steady pace throughout. Unfortunately, it doesn't really have that big 'bang' moments that I personally feel is lacking in most Kdramas these days. What's fascinating about this drama is that it has lots of sword-fighting scenes that are nice to watch. However, its a bit too much for my head at one go til it appeared in my dreams. haha :)

Anyways, I wanted to blog more bout some things but I gotta go. I'll save it for next round then. Merry Christmas everyone! :)

Good Days

I shouldn't be here but I am. AAHS. Bloggie, why u attract me?

Mwehs. If there is one talent, I found mine. Anddd that's this tremendous flair for idling around at home with no meaningful purpose.. Hahah. Okies. Its not a talent right, but lets just say if it was considered as one. Hehe. U noe, I have this tendency too to scroll through and read comments posted in Youtube videos or articles when I feel like it. Its a habit that I simply can't understand. That's what I've been doing for the past hour while checking out some videos. Uiyoo.

Anyways, semester 2's almost coming to an end. Its study break now (so I really should get my head in the game). FIM FIM. Macro macro. But why am I here?? Amitaofu! I haven't been back home for 5 weeks already so maybe that explains why I'm enjoying the space and time that I have at home now. TT

Actually this post is full of rambles only so far. Whopss. Haha. So yes, I would just like to share this one thing that pretty much filled up my sem's schedule. More like, the highlight for this sem. That's, art and cultural performance. Its my compulsory subject, but really, in a way, I feel kinda glad that it was made compulsory. Huhu. My group has 17 members altogether. For the past 7 weeks, I've been seeing them in and out of class so many times cos of practices. We went to makan makan also after practices sometimes. I feel kinda blessed to be part of this group. Though we're not super duper close, I can still feel the bond that connects us all and find a sense of comfort in knowing that we've been through the ups and downs of this project together. We danced Chammak Challo, a Bollywood song. :)

During the first few weeks, around 9 of us spontaneously went to The Voice after celebrating one of our group member's b'day. Haha. If u dunno, its a K-Box place. Wkaka. We went there only around 9pm smtg so to compensate for the expensive entry and to make our $$ worthwhile, we sang till the closing time. Guess what time was that??? 2.am!! Yupp, 2.a.m. I wouldn't have stayed on so late but since Kitkat and Lee Mee was around as well and I was fetching them, I felt it was okay to be out for a late night once. Hehe. :P Plus, it was RM25 per head lehh. Goshh. (We didn't know cos it was our first time there and it was a weekend rate. TT). But still, I really enjoyed myself and had lots of fun ehh. Its the best outing I had so far wif uni peeps. :D Also, its the first time that I held the mike for so long and really sang my heart out with the rest. :)) Others i caplang hum the melody for those songs I can't sing but know of. Mandarin n Chinese songs. Nyek nyek. I miss the bus ride back to uni after performance too. The guys sang K at the back of the bus like crazy and the smiles plastered on their faces as they sang and did embarassing things. It was hilarious and entertaining. Lol. But I pity those at the front (another group) and the bus driver! Haha.

Continue wif my rambling, I really wanna watch Big Heroes 6 but I guess I'll miss the cinema screenings, so I'll have to wait for the streaming site to have it. Huhu. So many people says its nice and funny. :) I watched How To Train Your Dragon halfway too but paused in between cos I had to finish up some assignment. Haha. Gonna resume it soon. Its quite a nice film so far. I love the dragonn! :) Besides, there's this short list of animated shows that I wanna watch. Aahs.

Its not the best timing but I also discovered that Play Store has so many of my childhood games and other exciting games. Omo. Sonic Run, Metal Slug, Banana Kong, Striker what not. Those are some of the childhood games I used to play. A small thought, how come there are people who are so creative that they're able to come up with simple, small memory usage but fun apps to occupy time? Ees. I just installed some new apps. One of them is Piano Tiles. A simple n nice game. :)

Okies. I should get back to my lecture notes n exercises soon. :( Babai for now. If anyone reads this, Have a good day!! =)

October

During the holidays, I went for a short 3d 2n stay pangkor trip with my parents. Since there was no wifi access, I mostly watched TV when I was in my room. Coincidentally, Running Man was showing on 8tv and I HAHA-ed all the way. I like Running Man!!:) Besides that, I swam at the resort’s pool. It has been almost a year since I last did anything physically demanding (except unless, walking around uni from one block to another is considered physically demanding..hahaha) so it feels great to go swimming. Hehees. :D  Strangely, my whole body could float upwards facing the sky because of the bouyancy there. Hees.  Besides that, we walked along the beach and enjoyed having the company of another group of enthusiastic tourists from KL which made our trip more cheerful-er. Overall, it was a relaxing and enjoyable trip. =)

And then last week, my family went to KL by train to visit my bro. On both occasions that I sat on the train, Catch Me If You Can was mutedly playing on tv. It stars Leonardo Di Caprio and Tom Hanks. I remember not feeling at all drawn by the movie when I used to be younger because of the conman concept but rewatching it again now, it was actually quite a captivating film. Imagine a boy at the age of 16 running away from a broken home and decides to be a con artist. Being chased by the FBI, he finally gets caught and imprisoned. Due to his exceptional talent in his vice however, he ends up working for the FBI to resolve other fraudulent cases involving fake cheques. Thus, based on a true story, the movie ends with a scrolling note revealing that he has helped design the bank security systems that are in place in most banks today. I guess the ending tells us that people don't always start off on the right track but may end up having exceptional stories to tell ehh.

Monday come, its going to be week 3 out of my short semester of 7 weeks. Omies. I won't be home for some time plus I'll be quite busy too. I hope our performance would turn out well. We'll have our first dance practice this Sunday. Eees. Hopefully it’ll be fun and everyone can cooperate. *fingers crossed* :) Anyways, since last semester, I have this slightly compelled feeling to be more participative in uni. Just a feeling. Vernie is doing the same course as me too so I hope she adapts here soon.

So far, I’m starting to like what I learn for this sem a little by little and I’m thankful for that. In terms of uni life, although its not short of some days that I dread, there are cheerful and good days too. :D I shall look at things positively and appreciate all the good moments that I have while knowing that those not so good days will eventually pass by. Why? Because 'Don't Sweat The Small Stuffs' teaches us so. HAHA. The author tells us this ‘Appreciate the good days and never let the bad days overwhelm you’ so, I think its a nice advice. Furthermore, the author reminds us that even the happiest people that he's known have a fair share of good and bad days. :D

Also, I really this anime piano cover by Animenz. Aahs. There is this other song that I heard my housemate played a long time ago. I wish I knew what the song was cos its epic too.  This song, 'My Dearest', it involves a lot of technical finger work and I think if I try learning to play it, I’ll still never be able to play it due to coordination problem. Hahaha. So I’ll just share the wonderful piece here. :) I wanna watch 'The Book of Life' too cos the characters looks cute. Wkaka.
