Malacca n Go Go

Haloooo. Its seldom that I blog so often and since there's a few days left before my official holidays come to an end, better take the opportunity aite?? Hehe

First of all, its been a long time since I chatted with Alex and amboii, she's still the same. Annoying as ever. Hahahaa. Still, nice la. :) Despite our short conversation on Whatsapp (1 hour short ryte?), it was good to hear from her. Was half done with breakfast too and left it aside for an hour before resuming eating. My bowl of porridge. Ngom ngom.

Just last Thursday, my coursemates and I took a trip down to Malacca. We stayed there for 4 days and 3 nights. The 5 of us and at one point, the 6 including my coursemate's sister. We have been talking about this trip since awhile back and its finally materialized. Wuhoo!

On our first day, we took the ETS to Tampin. It was a 4 hours journey right from ipoh. Thankfully, we took the train. If it were the bus..My butt would have ache. Keke. The last hour, we were pretty pumped up to start our day. The reason we took our train to Tampin and not Malacca was because one of our friends' lives in Alor Gajah which means the nearest station was Tampin. She's our host. Kitkat!! Haha. Our tour guide, awesome driver and Malacca lang. Oh, before that, she even prepared an itinerary for us too. Hehees.

As soon as we reached Tampin, Kitkat fetched us to her house where we left our belongings before we she drove us to a nearby beach. It was suppose to be pretty in the pictures. I think its one of those indah khabar daripada rupa kind of places. Keke. Then, we had coconut shake at Klebang. Supposed to be famous, it was ok la. Not as tasty as Jonker's. Hehe. We went shopping at Pahlawan next. I know, why we purposely head to shopping malls on the first day of Malacca right?? We were that free. After that, we help ourselves with Satay Celup for dinner and we weren't stuffed enough lor so we went looking for Longkang Siham. Our second round. Yes! Haha. A big misinterpretation over here, we thought the siham species was from the drain u see. It isn't. Its named as such because the place is located as it is called, in a back alley by the drains. As Malaysian as it sounds, it was clean though and the seafood there is fresh. What more, cheap! Mmms. A small plate of Lala costs RM2 only. So were the cockles and snails. They have chut chut, sotong, prawns etc somemore. I recommend this place! :D

We then took the River Cruise. RM10.60. Neh, 60sen untuk GST la. Aiseh. It was a pretty simple ride, a 40-minute trip all in all down and up the river. Actually, the radio was describing about the Sejarah on the go. Neh, we didn't listen! :P We were more attracted to Malacca's night view, and many wall murals could be seen. It was pretty late ady when we finally checked-in at our accommodation. It was a guest house. It was our First Night there. Feeling it right?? Hahha. Just kiddings yo. The Jiong Guesthouse. Honestly speaking, I was afraid to stay there. After checking through Agoda (the famous accommodation booking website) and reading the recent comments of the accommodation condition, I had some reservations. Yet because Kitkat chose the place, I went along with it. Plus, it was considerably the cheapest we could get for a night's stay. RM20 per person, so actually I was mentally prepared ady. Prepare first ma, ryte? The place was actually fine. Since maybe we were the only few guests around, there was no problem with the bathroom sharing part. They had public toilets unattached to our respective rooms. The not soundproof walls were not a problem either, something mentioned in Agoda. Eventually, it turned out to be a pretty comfortable stay. The 5 of us camped out in one room. Hehees. At night, we went for some late night drinks as well before we zoned out for the day.

The next morning, we walked around Jonker Street and explored the shops la. Suet Leng and Ann Gie did most of the shopping while Lee Mee, Kitkat and I were mostly tagging along. For us, we just feast the eyes only you know. :) For lunch, we tried different flavours of laksa there and its alright, the best is still probably the black gooeey sauce one, har guo. We continued to walk and walk. Kinda exhausted already and we pit-stop at Na-deejay. Ate some strange layered cake. Eees. Not that nice. It was around 3pm that time and while waiting for Jonker Street to open in the evening, we had a sudden idea to catch a movie. There weren't that many shows available at the cinemas so we chose the most ideal one - a horror show. HAHA. It was our first scary show together. We watched The Forest. As I sat in between Kitkat and Lee Mee, feeling everyone's gan cheongness, mine came off as laughter. Hahah. When Lee Mee asked me why i was laughing? I laughed even more. Hahaha. Lee Mee was hiding under her jacket most of the times and Kitkat was like me, scared but tahan-ing it. Constantly shifting to the left and right in our seats. Surprisingly, its the first H movie that had a rather logical plot to it and overall, not bad eh. By the time we made it to Jonker, it was about to rain and we were exhausted, so we just took a walk down the street while the traders were still busy setting up their stalls. Walking back to the car, I striked Toto lo. At the age of 21, it was my first big splat of bird poop which came from above and settled on my arm. I can tell you, its warm. No joke. Their poop. Haha.

After dinner, Kitkat drove us back to Alor Gajah where she stayed. We spent our next two nights here. Later on, we took a shall I say, half-dip?? at the hotspring near Alor Gajah. It was steaming at first and in the end, we could go underwater till the thigh level only.

On our third day, Kitkat's parents took us for pan mee for breakfast. Yums! Delicious. :) After that, we made way to A' famosa and spent almost our entire day there. The ice-cream ride was scary for the first time. Imagining it still makes me feel the butterflies in my tummy. At that one point, the ice-cream cone part, it really felt like a roller coaster ride. We were all laughing out of fear and holding tightly to the float grip. The Wahaha ride was fun too. Its crazy how so many queue up to be washed away by the sudden gush of water and end up in a float pile-up. Hahaha. :)

By the evening, we took a stroll at A'famosa shopping mall and Machap Walk. The walk was a small pasar malam. Smaller than Ipoh's pasar malam one. The most noticeable thing over there is probably that it sells a variety of buns. Pau, buns, burger and more buns. We decided to take away our food back to Kitkat's home where we munch happily. In the night, we usually chat before heading to bed. Girl's favourite ma horr? Pillow talk. Hahha. Thanks to Suet Leng, the girl who never lets us sleep. Haha. Abit polluted by her fair share of new Chinese words too.

On our way to the train station on the last day, Ann Gie was telling me that she hopes to have an overseas trip together in future, after graduation. *fingers crossed* Hopefully. Overall, it was a fun and memorable trip with them. Will keep them in my heart. :) Going on trips with friends is great because I get to do things together as a bunch and actually spend within the given budget (some savings would be good), and to be less fussy by taking into consideration not just ours but everyone else's preferences!

Now, back to rambling. My recent fad was Sassy, Go Go! Really like the Korean drama, such an underrated drama in my opinion. With a total of 12 episodes altogether which is oppose to the usual 16, its still being nicely wrapped up. Still having the Post-Drama Syndrome. Unable to find another good drama to watch after this one. Haih. Its nicee. With an emphasis on friendship and challenges in high school, one of the best high school dramas ever lo!! Haha. :) Its one realistic high school show at least. Dwelling on the basic concerns of students and teachers like school clubs and societies, exam grades, office politics, friendships, household issues etc. What I liked most of the drama is its overall cheerfulness that was mostly maintained throughout the series. Even the antagonist role was well played. As mean as she was, one could sympathize with her at the end. Besides, the author also look into some other more serious issues as well. Aahs. Now can't seem to find a nice series that measures up (always have this feeling after a good drama. Aiseh) and still looking for a good one. Considering a time travel drama now but aahs, will miss this one. :)

Still have a couple more of days to settle some things and maybe more shopping with mummy. Today shopped with her at Mr. DIY for 2 hours plus dee. We can shop that long at DIY leh. A new semester ahead again. Ohnoo. Daunting? Yes or No? Dunno. Just bet it'll be hectic. Be ready~
